Please indicate which Pleasure Award you wish to join by selecting the appropriate choice below:-

The "Appaloosa Pleasure Award" (for BApS registered horses only) and the "Pleasure Award" (for all other equines) are designed to award you with a rosette showing how many hours you have ridden / driven in the scheme year, which runs from 1st January to 31st December each year.
  • You will receive an official logbook to record hours spent riding or driving your horse.
  • The Pleasure scheme covers hacking and fun rides and does not include schooling, hunting or any form of competing.
  • You may join more than one horse and receive a rosette per horse/rider combination. The first two are free but a small £3.00 fee applies each additional horse you wish to enter.
  • All participants/riders/drivers MUST be full current members of British Appaloosa Society throughout the scheme.
  • Members may join at any time during the year, but understand that they will have less time before the end of the year to accumulate hours.
  • Hours cannot be carried forward to the next year and all participants will start at zero at the beginning of each year or from the date of enrolment if later.
All profits will go to British Appaloosa Society.
  • Stages to aim for will be colour coded and set in hours beginning at 25 hours. Up to 25 hours (First Stage Certificate), 26 to 50 Hours (Copper Award) 51 to 100 Hours (Bronze Award) 101 to 150 Hours (Silver Award) 151  to 200 hours(Gold Award) 201 Hours and over (Platinum Award, which will trigger a goody bag as well as a Platinum rosette)
  • Reward rosettes will be endorsed with the scope of the hours you have achieved (as above)
  •  League tables will be produced after the completion of the scheme and published in the British Appaloosa Society newsletter and on the website. Each year the award will close on 31st December.
Please ensure logbooks are sent to the scheme coordinator (either by post or email) to arrive on or before 31 st January.
The coordinator will then check logbooks, and then produce the league tables and order the award rosettes and any qualifying goody bags (201 Hours plus)
Any log books received after this date will not be included in the league tables and will not receive a rosette. Please note from the start of 2022 scheme, participants in the scheme will be asked to send a prepaid and pre addressed envelope to the administrator for all rosettes awarded. Alternatively you will be invited to attend the BApS AGM the following year to receive your awards in person.
